One of the most popular rivers in Germany is the Mosel. It is lined with vineyards up the mountainside and each village has a few wine cellars where you can go taste wine as well as purchase some. Having fresh wine right by where it is grown is a whole different experience that I am happy to have taken a part of.  We started the tastings in a city called Cochem.

And this is what you see everywhere you go in Germany. They have been ‘going green’ for quite some time now and windmills are abundant throughout the landscape.
